Abyss and Sonjay Dutt leave Impact Wrestling

Impact Wrestling lost two important cogs in their creative team recently. PWInsider has revealed that both Abyss and Sonjay Dutt have left the company.

It’s assumed that they’re on their way to the WWE at this point, though it’s unknown how they’ll be used.

Over the past few years, both Dutt and Abyss were honored by Impact in their own ways. Abyss went into the company’s Hall of Fame in 2018, while Dutt finally won his first, and only X-Division Championship back in 2017, winning the belt from Low-Ki in Mumbai.

While it’s possible that we may see the two appear on WWE TV at some point, whether it’s the main roster or working with up and coming talent in NXT, they may have been brought on for the company’s creative team.

Speaking of which, Impact has replaced Abyss and Dutt with Tommy Dreamer and Konnan on their creative team. The split between the two and Impact was amicable, and the company wished them well in their future, wherever that takes them.
