Aiden English set for a new role with the WWE

After his disassociation with Rusev, Aiden English is all set for a different role in the company. Known for his vocals, the former Vaudevillians member will ply his trades with the mic as a commentator for 205 Live.

English, replacing Percy Watson in the booth will join alongside Vic Joseph and Nigel McGuiness. As of now, this shift is rumoured to be planned until WrestleMania although the company could make it permanent if it works well.

205 Live General Manager Drave Maverick commented on the prospect of English arriving in the 205 Live division. He said:

“The McMahons have been shaking things up on Raw and SmackDown LIVE, so I’m going to follow suit. Aiden English is an active Superstar and is very opinionated, and I believe those opinions and perspective will add to the current commentary team, only adding to the entertainment value of The Most Exciting Hour of Television.”

Fellow commentator Michael Cole also had a few words to say on Aiden English’s switch to the commentary desk. Cole added:

“We wanted to do something special for WrestleMania season, and Royal Rumble week kicks off the Road to WrestleMania. We’ve been working with Aiden at the WWE Performance Center to see if he has the chops, and it turns out he’s pretty good.”

It be nice for Corey Graves don’t have to do color for both Raw and Smackdown that guy is a work horse.

Interesting, we need a Jerry Lawler of this generation

  • Soulshroude

I can see him in this role, yeah.

  • Dirt McGirt

I’d thought they’d repackage him as simply Aiden and pair him with Mandy Rose.

  • Sparti Love

I think he could be a really good heel commentator. I still won’t watch 205 but maybe I’ll check it out
