Alberto Del Rio claims he left WWE because of the tight schedule

Former WWE Star Alberto Del Rio recently had an interview with ESPN to promote the upcoming Slammiversary event, where he made some interesting claims about his WWE departure.

According to Del Rio, the main reason why he left WWE was the brutal schedule he had to follow,  where he would be on the road for the better part of the year:

“That’s actually the main reason I decided to leave WWE, the brutal schedule that you have when you work for a company like WWE. I couldn’t take it anymore. I didn’t want to be on the road for 210-220 days per year,”

Later in the interview, he repeated his comments about retiring from wrestling soon and said that Impact Wrestling is the place where he wants to end his career:

“When it comes to United States, I want to retire in Impact Wrestling. I know it’s always the same when a wrestler goes to a different company, he always puts the company over and forgets about the other one. The difference between me and other talent that has left WWE is — I left the company.”

Alberto also talked about his retirement match and claimed that it would be fantastic if he wrestles his final bout against none other than Rey Mysterio:

“I always had fun with my great friend Rey Mysterio Jr.; I think it would be fantastic to have my very last match against someone like him because my very first match in WWE was against Rey Mysterio Jr.”

Apart from this Alberto Del Rio also talked about his upcoming match against Lashley and more.
