Alberto Del Rio on a return to the WWE: “I’m sure I’ll be back before I retire”

Alberto El Patron

Former WWE Champion Alberto El Patron, known in the WWE as Alberto Del Rio, feels pretty confident about a return to the company.

In an interview with The Roman Show, El Patron discussed Rey Mysterio, who is also expected to return to the WWE soon, and that he feels he’ll be back sooner than later.

On Rey Mysterio being his ideal final opponent before he retires:

Top of my head, the first one to cross my mind is Rey Mysterio Jr. He’s one of my best friends in the business. He’s a fantastic wrestler and a real life legend. He’d be the perfect person to do a world tour to say goodbye to the pro wrestling business. Of course, there’s a lot of names of guys I’d like to wrestle again like Dolph Ziggler, Ken Anderson, and many others in the business.

On a return to the WWE:

I have a good relationship with Vince McMahon, so I’m sure I’ll be back one day before I decide to retire. I’ll go back there to have a last…final run. Maybe I’ll have the opportunity to work with all those wrestlers I used to work with when I was with [WWE]. We used to have a lot of fun.

When asked about a possibility to work with NJPW, El Patron said that the travel was too much to handle. He had missed too much family time while working with the WWE and wants to be in his kids’ lives.

  • CC

He has a good relationship with Vince … I doubt that.

  • Kayfabe_Is_Dead

    No thank you.

  • Sparti Love

He’s had several chances, he was never a draw and always left on bad terms.. forget him!

  • Rob ‘Richard Hammond’ Picken

I dont mind him coming back i thought maybe more as a manager though

  • Nicholas Giambattista

The thing is neither Vince or HHH hold anything that say to them over the internet to heart. If the WWE think they can still make it work with Del Rio they will figure it out. But I have him start in NXT and work his way back up.

  • Steven Stevens

I want to see Hulk Hogan manage him.

  • Whistling Joe

Please, Lord God Almighty, please keep him off my TV forever and ever.
