Alberto Del Rio reveals why he no-showed Impact vs. Lucha Underground event

Alberto El Patron

While he did not compete in any major events during the WrestleMania weekend, Alberto Del Rio still found his way into the headlines by no-showing the Impact vs. Lucha Underground show he was supposed to main event.

The no-show of the troubled superstar quickly became a hot topic of discussion and shortly afterward Impact Officials made the decision to release the former World Champion.

During a latest interview with The Sporting News, Del Rio finally broke his silence on the matter and revealed the reason for his absence to be a family situation:

“I had a family situation that I needed to attend (to). As you know, my family, my kids are my priority. The situation was involving them and that’s why I decided to take care of business and take care of my family situation. And that’s all that happened. This only concerns my family: my parents, my sister, myself and my kids. And that’s the way it’s going to stay.”

Apart from this, Alberto also talked about getting released from Impact saying that it’s always difficult to go this way and repeated his comments about retiring from Pro Wrestling next year.

The guy is full of it. Impact officials are saying he no showed then told them afterwards he was ill. Now it is a family emergency. Not the first time we have heard bull from him regarding no shows, and sure it wont be the last.

  • I smell pants alit

The real story is the temp dropped and precipitation moved in so he had a roll in the snow. He may have had a rolled dollar bill in his hand at the time….

  • Anutosh Bajpai

Yeah he is probably lying cause he told Impact Officials he was ill..but then again you can’t trust anything he says at all

It highly doubtful that he did it for those reasons. Most people tweet something when they arent able to show up due to serious issues, especially when they are the main-event. It doesnt just dawn on them after weeks have gone by.
