Before he was injured, John Cena was scheduled to challenge Alberto Del Rio for the U.S Title at the Royal Rumble PPV.
Now, Kalisto will challenge for the title. WWE had Kalisto beat Rio clean on Thursday’s episode of SmackDown to set up the title match. Cena was at ringside for that match.
Royal Rumble takes place on January 24, 2016, at Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.It will be the 29th event under the Royal Rumble chronology and the first WWE pay-per-view of 2016. This event will air on the WWE Network and some traditional pay-per-view outlets.
