Alex Shelley announces in-ring retirement

Alex Shelley is probably best recognized for his work in TNA where he was a part of a legendary X-Division roster. While there, he formed a tag team with Chris Sabin known as the Motor City Machine Guns. The duo was known for their battles against teams like Lethal Consequences, British Invasion, Beer Money and The Young Bucks (Known then as Generation Me).

Shelley and Sabin have been working in ROH recently, but it seems their time as a team, and Shelly’s career, has come to an end.

Alex Shelley revealed on Twitter yesterday that the Guns had wrestled their final match at the War of the Worlds event back in May. The Guns faced off against Roppongi 3K and The Young Bucks in a match where Roppongi 3K would come out on top.

Shelley suffered a nasty concussion during the match and hadn’t wrestled since. His contract with Ring of Honor expired on July 20, and Shelley announced his retirement three days later.
