All Elite Wrestling unsuccessful in securing indie superstar due to WWE interest

All Elite Wrestling had their Double or Nothing rally today and many big announcements were made. They are currently building up a pretty impressive roster as they get closer to their next big event in Las Vegas. However, they have not been able to get everyone they wanted.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that All Elite Wrestling were unable to secure at least one name that they really wanted, due to that superstar being interested in WWE.

“I know that [AEW] is recruiting and trying to get women from all over. I know Viper was on their list. When her contract is up she’s probably going to WWE, not All Elite so that’s a get for WWE.”

“Everybody knows who the free agents are. WWE is trying to sign them all, Elite is trying to sign them all. You’ve got Ring Of Honor and New Japan. It’s a great time to be a wrestler.”

Viper was a clear standout during the Mae Young Classic, but WWE did not sign her back then. Of course, someone like Viper would be a huge addition to AEW’s women’s roster. However, WWE might already have gotten hold of Viper at this point.
