- Courtesy of WWEDVDNews, here is the cover for WWE’s Best of The King of The Ring DVD set featuring Booker T, Bret Hart, Kurt Angle, William Regal, Triple H, Ken Shamrock, Steve Austin, Sheamus, Brock Lesnar and Edge. The set comes out on DVD and Blu-ray December 13th.

“For more than 20 years, the King of the Ring has been a favorite tradition of the WWE Universe, a tournament to crown wrestling royalty. Past kings have included Randy Savage, Bret “Hit Man” Hart, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, Edge, and Brock Lesnar.

But the King of the Ring’s popularity goes beyond the storied tournament, as for 10 years, King of the Ring was a wildly popular PPV event that produced a number of unforgettable moments including the Hell in a Cell match between Undertaker and Mankind, Stone Cold’s memorable battle with Mr. McMahon and Shane McMahon for control of the WWE, Austin’s debut of his revolutionary “Austin 3:16” catchphrase, the first-ever match between Hulk Hogan and Kurt Angle, as well as matches for the WWE Championship.

Now all those moments are collected in The Best of the King of the Ring, a 3-DVD set packed with more than 8 hours of amazing matches, interviews, moments, and more.”

    Owen should’ve been on this. But we all know how that goes.

  • MW

    Wellsy is a genius.

  • Sammo

    @ironcross – great job at not getting the joke!

  • Wellsy

    Should be:
    Jan – Royal Rumble (as normal)
    Feb – Elimination Chamber (only one Chamber match and not for the belt, the winner challenges for the other World Title at WM)
    Mar/Apr – WrestleMania (as normal)
    Apr – Backlash (finish off storylines from WM)
    May – Extreme Rules (make this a non-PG event)
    June – King of the Ring (winner challenges at SS)
    July – Money in the Bank (as normal)
    Aug – SummerSlam (as normal, with ME being KOTR vs champ)
    Sep – Night of Champions (as normal)
    Oct – Hell in a Cell (no1 contender match as most title matches at HIAC tend to be lame, no1 contenders tend to put it all on the line as they “don’t have to be there”, they want to be there)
    Nov – Survivor Series (more emphasis on 5v5)
    Dec – TLC (as normal)

    None of this 14 PPVs a year. One a month is fine. They all have some kind of meaning.

    Wouldn’t mind seeing a WWE World Cup as well. Would be good to see them sell the international angle a bit more. 3v3 tournament with teams like USA, Canada, Mexico, England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Japan, Samoa, etc.

    @tombstone

    They should get rid of Vengance because that is the second ppv of October and they always rush that ppv.

  • Tombstonepiledriver

    Point well taken. But there are to many ppv’s as it is. They really should give us some decent shows that we dont have to buy.

  • venom

    @JIR

    It was cool when they had over 16 guys in the king of the ring.

    @tombstone

    It’s nice watching it for free, but they rush it since it’s not a ppv.

  • I GOTZ MY $$$ STILL!

    @Tombstonepiledriver You still pay for the PPV’s? Someone needs to google search the streams on Sunday’s!

  • Tombstonepiledriver

    ummm so you dont like seeing it for free? Paying roughly 45 bucks makes it more interesting?

  • Prince

    I agree. They should definitely make King of the Ring a PPV again. Meant a lot more when it was.

  • JIR

    King of the Ring should have stayed a PPV it was a stupid decision to remove it to a 3 hour RAW. I loved watching the qualifiers leading up to the one night Tournament

  • ironcross

    Lol @ Mr ass and Mabel,
    Common knowledge the Mr ass killed KOTR you loser

  • http://google the dude

    Lol @ ken shamrock

  • Sammo
