Another segment reportedly nixed from Raw

Asuka

We noted before how WWE rewrote a big segment on Raw this week which was originally expected to feature Brock Lesnar but apparently this wasn’t the only thing that was nixed from the show.

Per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Asuka was expected to announce her opponent for WrestleMania during the event but her promo segment was removed later on.

The reason why WWE dropped the announcement is not known yet but the belief is that she will reveal her opponent after the Fastlane PPV where Charlotte will defend her title against Ruby Riott.

The original plans for Asuka were for her to challenge Charlotte for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania with Nia Jax challenging Alexa Bliss for her title at the show.

However, as we noted before those plans have changed and the former NXT Star is now penciled to face Bliss at the 34th edition of the Show Of Shows

I would love for Asuka to show up to Smackdown! and challenge Charlotte for her title at WrestleMania! What a huge match that would be! And then on the DRAFT, have Charlotte come back to Smackdown and send Bayley to Smackdown. She’s become so stale on RAW. Have a Sasha vs Bayley feud with Sasha turning heel. WWE, just hire me already!

For all we know, none of these plans were true. Its nothing but speculation.
