Author reveals nixed WrestleMania 34 matches

During a recent interview with The Wrestling Estate, Jon Robinson, the author of the book Creating The Mania: An Inside Look at how WrestleMania Comes to Life revealed a couple of interesting matches that were planned for WrestleMania 34 but nixed later on.

According to him, Kevin Owens expected to face Vince McMahon at the show after his big beatdown angle with the chairman and the Usos and The New Day were hoping to square off in a TLC match.

Similarly, the company officials were planning Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan vs. Kurt Angle for the event but these matches were nixed due to Jordan and Ambrose getting injured:

“There were a lot of matches in play that could have completely changed the card, and then you hear about injuries affecting things like Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose. They were also trying to do Kurt Angle vs. Jason Jordan, but then Jordan got injured.”

After the injuries struck, Seth Rollins ended up being part of a triple threat match at WrestleMania and Kurt Angle competed in a mixed tag match.
