Home » WWE News » More Backstage News on CM Punk Possibly Returning to WWE and WrestleMania XXX Plans

- As noted earlier, Dave Meltzer said on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that CM Punk is expected to be at tonight’s RAW from Chicago. Meltzer wouldn’t say he’s 100% sure Punk will be there and really didn’t sound too sure of it but his source, who is reportedly a top WWE star, said it’s 100% certain.

Regarding plans for WrestleMania XXX, if Punk does return at RAW he will either replace Daniel Bryan in the match with Triple H or go into the WWE World Heavyweight Title match with Batista and Randy Orton. Punk likely isn’t winning the title unless he plans on signing a new contract in July and that impression wasn’t given.

Unfortunately, you are basing your views around rumors and “reports”. Especially so for your claim that Punk gave wwe management several hours before Raw several weeks back as to his intentions of going home. From many sources it was reported that it was a small window of time that he gave management, which I think is pure BS on his part. At that point he wasn’t thinking about how it would affect anyone else, Punk was thinking about SELF. The hell with Daniel Bryan having to go out there and scoop up the damn mess then, right?! And as for Punk working through injuries…several of the wwe talent do this. But you don’t see them grabbing their bags and walking away from their job. If indeed Punk did this to “make a statement” as you mentioned, I don’t think it’s sending a very good message to the talent in the back. I mean, at the end of the day, Punk is the one with the most to lose in all of this, especially at Wrestlemania. If he could have found some way to swallow his enormous pride for just a few more months, he could have shared the big ppv payoff with the rest of the roster. He made that decision to walk away, on his own terms, and now he gets to live with it. He had sucked things up this long, and his contract is set to expire this July. Why not simply man up and fulfill the rest of your contractual obligation? Oh that’s right, that’s because he wanted to be the #1 guy in the company and he wasn’t getting that so he didn’t find it necessary to stick around and be a team player like he should have done. As for him not making any royalties from his own merchandise now is his own fault so there’s no need for you to pity him on the basis that he’s missing out on any money. Why should he get any further money? He is sitting at home with his thumb up his ass, soothing his own ego because he thinks he is some sort of martyr for everyone else. He needs to worry about his OWN agenda. If the other guys in the back are unhappy, let THEM voice their displeasures. They are grown men, they don’t need him to speak for them. He has worked very hard, and of course he should have some clout by now. But not enough to the point where, as his track record has shown, he should go around pissing and moaning that he is owed money or respect. Being a top guy does not give you the right to flex your ego around at anyone and everyone. There is a code of conduct in the world of business, and he broke that code in my estimation.

note, anything Dave says on his podcast/radio show or what ever you want to call it, should not be taken as news but instead should be taken as him just guessing, predicting or speculation or all three. i’m not gonna buy it until Punk ether shows up or no-shows Raw. this is prefect example of why everything you hear on the internet may not be true sometimes

So let me get this straight…CM Punk took his ball and went home when things were not going his way. Not only did he walk out on his contractual obligations, he also walked out on THE FANS…the same fans that are clambering for him to hurry back! WHY?! He walked out on YOU! Regardless of the reason(s) why he walked away, what he did was still very selfish and unprofessional. He AND wwe management are BOTH to blame for the situation. Neither side has handled the situation very well thus far…yet wwe’s big catchphrase nowadays is “to do what’s best for business”. Punk held the world title for over 1 full year yet he still isn’t happy? Now to appease to his egotistical displeasure, it’s sounding like wwe management may be considering plugging him right back into the main event picture. What kind of precedent is this setting for the locker room??? Doesn’t sound much different than Batista just waltzing back into the wwe and being handed a main event spot at WM. You can hate me all you want for my opinions here all you want. And if you do, you are blind to the facts. The wwe is SO MUCH BIGGER than any one man or woman. If Punk is not around, the show goes on, period. The same goes for the whole Daniel Bryan situation…If he never gets the world title, the show goes on. I’d love to see him as champion, of course, I think he is one of the best wrestlers to ever step inside a ring. But I’m not going to quit watching the wwe all on the basis that he never gets to hold that title. I’ll state it again…the wwe is SO MUCH BIGGER than any one man or woman. Yet if Daniel Bryan never gets that gold, many of you fans are willing to walk away from wwe, just the same as good ol’ Punk did. MANY world class athletes wrestled for wwe over the years and many of them were never world champion. To me that doesn’t tarnish their legacies one bit. It just shows that wrestling is a dog eat dog business and these guys get paid to work through adversities for a living. Just because you don’t hold that big shiny belt does not mean there’s entirely nothing else worth fighting for. I’m not trying to start a commotion with anyone, I’m just trying to be sensible about things in a world where the majority of people fail to see the silver lining in ANYTHING anymore.
