- Sources report that CM Punk’s entire promo at the end of RAW this week was improvised by Punk and not scripted. Nobody in the back knew what Punk was going to say until he said it live on RAW.

WWE officials told Punk to go out and say in his own words why he was leaving the company, why he wanted the WWE Title and why he wanted to leave with it in his possession. There was a discussion that when officials felt Punk was going too far, they would pull the plug on the segment and cut his mic.

It’s said that Punk was upset months ago when Triple H came back to feud with The Undertaker and while some of his comments on RAW towards Vince McMahon were well thought out to appear not as a shoot to the average viewer, most believe that Punk’s comments towards Triple H and John Laurinaitis were strictly a shoot.

Word also is that Punk had some notes for his speech jotted down on his wrist tape.

As far as his contract status, Punk’s deal apparently expires the second week of July but he signed an extension to work through Money in the Bank. Still with last night’s new storyline development, sources maintain that Punk is leaving at Money in the Bank.

that would be an excellent storyline. heres to hopin

  • tktawab

@ Stumpy, I would love if that were the actual case. Now that would be a storyline I could get behind!

  • Stumpy

Punk is not pissed off at Trips. It’s all part of the storyline so he could talk smack about anyone that could be involved with the Corporation. Same thing happened with the Austin/Corporation fued. VKM brought his family into it and he’s doing it again. Only this time one of his family members is an actual wrestler. He called out Dwayne and the douchebag because they will be a part of the puzzle as well. And the whole bit about how much he liked Cena is so that Cena becomes sympathetic to Punk’s battles with the Corporation after some time and sides with Punk in the end. Mark my words… Punk vs Cena/Corporation/VKM and family to start and then Punk/Cena vs Corporation/VKM to finish. Add in your various wrestlers to the storyline on one side or the other and you have your fued.

Folks we have all done what the WWE has wanted us to do again give it buzz about a PPV while using Punks leaving as a firestarter I am starting to think that its a conspiracy

  • No1Colminer

Raw july 4; Kelly Kelly and Eve Torres defeated the Bellas

WWE Tag Team Champions Michael McGillicutty and David Otunga defeated Vladimir Kozlov; and Santino Marella

    Jack Swagger defeated Sergeant Slaughter

Alex Riley defeated The Miz via pinfall.

McMahon stops Cena from leaving and says he can have his match with Punk; who’s not suspended anymore. But Vince says that if Cena loses the belt to Punk at the MITB PPV then John Cena is fired.

  • CC

@ Humper! So why only be angry with HHH? Surely he should be angry with Undertaker as he was out for ages as well. Or HBK the year before.

I really doubt that Punk is pissed off about something like that as HHH has been one of the biggest names in WWE for over a decade now.
If he has any issues with HHH I doubt it has anything to do with how long he was out. It would be either something totally unconnected to his WM match or that he was specifically promised the match against Taker and HHH took it away from him.

  • Treg

Wow.. I didn’t know they let wrestlers do that anymore. I thought for sure they didn’t let anybody say anything without a script. Guess Punk is special.. if this story is true at all =/

    FROM WWE.COM
WWE Chairman Vince McMahon suspends CM Punk
    June 27, 2011
Tags: Raw: June 27, 2011, CM Punk

Raw’s abrupt conclusion Monday night was not due to technical difficulties. The decision to suddenly end the broadcast in that manner was made by WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon, who gave this quote to WWE.com:

“CM Punk was suspended indefinitely for his unprofessional conduct as soon as Raw went off the air.”

With his WWE contract expiring on July 17, one can only assume that this suspension effectively terminates CM Punk’s tenure with WWE.

UPDATE: As of Tuesday, June 28, WWE and CM Punk have reached an agreement that Punk will fulfill his non-televised live event obligations for the remainder of his contract, through July 17. Furthermore, both sides have mutually agreed not to disparage one another.

next weeks raw was recorded right after punks promo. it ended with cena demanding punk be reinstated by VKM, even handing vkm his title saying if freedom of speech aint allowed then title means nothing. so vkm reinstates punk so they can fight. dont believe me, look on the internet or wait one week

  • Humper!

    @ raziel
but if you were a wrestler, wouldn’t the fact that they were out about ten mouths and out of nowhere main event wrestlemania, piss you off

  • Raziel

why would anyone be angry that they feuded, neither had a title, and when you feud with Taker leading to Wrestlemania you know that you are going to lose.

  • Bill

@Howe, I was wondering why that was. Maybe it’s because Triple H was perfectly healthy, but only wanted to return for the spotlight…

  • 6burgh

agree with Shawn…This character really does play with the IWC. It is real fresh and I hope punk stays and continues this role.

  • Howe

Does anyone know why Punk was supposedly mad when triple h returned to fight undertaker?

  • lew

    @ shawn fully agree

  • No1Colminer

was a work!! why would VKM allow a LEAVING performer rip to sh*t his current and backstage stars, with all this PG BS also meaning vince would have made sure punk knew what to say, he sits in the guerilla position, he knows how to cut the mic off if anything ever got out of hand. punk would use better more condescending term for HHH than doofus. this is a work to allow punk to leave knowing wwe will give him limelight, this leaves a sweet taste in punks mouth as opposed to just walking out

  • B

Whatever it was, it’s damn effective – the WWE news story alone has 9981 Tweets and has been shared more than 32 500 times according to the counter on http://www.wwe.com/shows/raw/2011-06-27/mcmahon-suspends-punk

  • CC

I agree with Shawn on this. The whole mic being cut was part of the angle, not because someone was pissed off backstage.
Honestly, if he was gonna shoot on HHH, do you really think he would call him a “doofus”?
If it had been a shoot it would have been cut after the insults levelled at Laurinaitis.

  • Shawn

Nothing goes on the air without getting approval from Vince. Fact. Vince knew exactly what Punk was going to say and, most likely, even told him a couple things to say. When will the IWC ever grow a clue? Only marks would think this was a true shoot. If it was, I can guarantee you Punk wouldn’t have plugged his match, would have mentioned TNA by name and finally, his mic would have been cut LONG before it did. Give me a break.

  • Daniel

if it wasn’t scripted then how did they know to bleep out douchebag when talking Bout Johnny ace?

  • Bill

Maybe the corporation will return & try to “do away” with CM Punk, which is essentially McMahon vs. Austin 2.0.

  • NALKA

I dont think that it was because triple h, it was because he was going to start to talk about de bully campaign.

  • Greatness

Punk is going to win at MITB

  • L

Um, it didn’t actually get cut off then.. it got cut off right when he was about to tell his “personal story” about Vince.

  • John Cheesa

@kenn…Of course! We can’t insult the mighty Triple H. Even though Trips is one of my favorite wrestlers of all-time, he sure has a frail ego. Also, Johnny Ace kind of deserves to be the subject of a shoot.

  • Angry Dude

other sources say that his contract ends in september……

  • kenn

That explains why they cut off right after the HHH comment
