Backstage News On Damien Sandow’s Release From WWE

Damien Sandow was released from WWE last Friday, and there were many within the company that was shocked to learn about his release.

 


 

WWE told Sandow that he was not released because of anything he did, according to PWInsider. However, WWE felt that it was time for the company to freshen up things on the main roster and was forced to cut him.

Sandow’s first stint with WWE was from 2002 – 2007, and he worked in OVW during that time. He returned to the company in 2010 and was called up to the main roster in 2012. During his time with WWE, he won the Tag Team Title once and was the 2013 Money in the Bank winner.

Hornswoggle, El Torito, Cameron, Alex Riley, King Barrett, Santino Marella and Zeb Colter were also released from the company.
