Backstage news on who could be revealed as Enzo Amore’s mystery attacker

Enzo and Cass attacked

From past two weeks, Enzo Amore is being attacked backstage during Raw and WWE has been building a storyline around Enzo’s mystery attacker.

Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio noted that this storyline will continue to play over the next few weeks and current plans call for Big Cass to turn heel and be revealed as the attacker.

It’s worth noticing that the rumours of Enzo and Cass breaking up have been heard a number of times before, but it makes more sense now as the Hardy Boyz are back in the company to fulfil the position of the top babyface tag team in the division.

It’s also been noted several times how Mr McMahon is high on Big Cass so it shouldn’t be much of a surprise if a Cass has a big push coming in his way after his heel turn.

No word yet on when WWE plans to reveal Cass as the mystery attacker but considering that after Extreme Rules this Sunday, the next Raw PPV will take place on July 9th, Officials are expected to take their time to build this feud.

The problem with giving him a title is that the mid-card title divisions on each show are being dominated by Kevin Owens, AJ Styles, Sami Zayn, The Miz, Dean Ambrose, and Dolph Ziggler. I feel like he’d get lost in the shuffle with all those massive singles stars. I see him floating around for a bit (squashing local talents, Kalisto, Apollo, etc.), and then breaking out by maybe 2019 hopefully.

Hmm iight. I see u. Im worried they wont write him big yet. They’ll drop the ball. Buuuut we’ll see. I still feel like they should let them have a title run first

All I’m saying is that Cass fed off of Enzo, because they had come up together and were best friends. I just feel like Enzo was the star there, probably due to the writing. I would compare Cass to Braun Strowman when he was with Bray and the gang. Strowman was meh, but had a ton of potential. Now that they’ve cut him loose, he’s grown immensely and is shining on his own. I think if he’s booked right, Cass could be a huge asset as a singles competitor. We haven’t seen all he’s got yet, as his moveset was modeled as one of a tag team competitor, not a singles competitor.

Interesting theory. I mean they’re not that entertaining to you. But a lot of ppl including myself like their balance, chemistry and yes entertaining combination. . They r too fresh and unachieved to break up right now. Cass might not do to well

Anyone surprised by this is dumb. Of course it was Cass. But it’s also stupid that Enzo wouldn’t notice it was him.

THEY were never that entertaining. Enzo was always the star of the team. Both are pretty decent in the ring, but Cass has as much personality as a wet blanket 75% of the time. He fed off of Enzo, which made him okay, but most of the time his promos are just bad. Enzo is going to the Cruiserweight division, so that Neville can feud with someone who is super over with the audience.

I feel like this is such a big mystake. They r so entertaining and no worse off at wrestling than other teams. They should have at least seen god oncw b4 this happens. . . Its too early for them to break and to early for a cass push. And whats gonna happen to Enzo he becomes a jobber for life now? . . . They had slmething really good here and its being ruined. And to reply to another comment here, they are down low on the totem pole not because of their ability but because of how writers handle them.

If this is true, that’s disappointing. I did find them enjoyable in NXT and it’s a shame that they never got the tag titles. They should have been drafted to Smackdown and least gotten the chance to hold them once. Not a fan of them on the main roster but they’ve earned at least one run with the belts before they split.

Enzo and Cass were not even close to being the top baby face tag team in the division before The Hardys returned. The New Day, before transferring to SD were bigger. Cesaro and Sheamus, prior to their heel turn were bigger. The fact that they never even held the tag titles show you how low down the totem pole they were.
Yet another case of someone getting a big push initially then ending up dropping down the card.

They have lost so much momentum recently that splitting them up actually makes a lot more sense.
If that happens, the only way Enzo will be able to continue is if they switch him to 205 live.

  • ROB-1.

I always thought it was Cass. Enzo lost too many matches.

  • Keith Learmonth

Big Cass is way too obvious for this. Go with someone else to surprise people.

    Yay for rehashed storyines!

    (Summerslam 02 anyone?)
