Backstage News on Goldberg’s WWE Contract

According to a report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Goldberg’s new WWE contract included appearances for three pay-per-views (PPVs), which are the Royal Rumble this month, Fastlane in March, and the show of shows Wrestlemania in Orlando.

Goldberg is being expected to make fairly regular WWE TV appearances throughout the road to Wrestlemania in order to help promote those three PPVs as well.

I think both WWE and Bill Goldberg are seeing how this goes. If Goldberg feels good after the 3 month run maybe he does more in the WWE. But then again this all may end at Wrestlmania where Brock Lasner finally beats Bill Goldberg.

Wrong place at the wrong time unfortunately for him. His fashion choices didn’t exactly inspire anyone either; 270-pound man wearing skinny-jeans and we saw first-hand why they shouldn’t, and of course his Smurf outfit.)

Yeah Batista as a heel is always great, don’t know why he’s so hated, that go-away heat shouldn’t be on him at all….unless he’s babyface

This is true, he even said as a form of respect he did the whole top rope shake down like Warrior did.

  • D2K

Batista never really reminded me of anyone else. He’s pretty unique in his look and style. Especially during his heel title-run.

  • D2K

I agree. Goldberg looks just fine. The cardio needed for in-ring duty can only be accomplished by being in the ring. People need to stop hating and just watch the damned show or don’t.

Technically, Dave did admit in an interview that he modeled himself after his “late” hero, Warrior. This is not news. He took pride in mimicking Warrior, yeah.

I always thought Ryback was a Goldberg clone and Batista was the Warrior clone.

Cant really say he was in good shape considering the length of the match and all the injury rumours. The jury is still out on whether he can have a good match.

  • D2K

    ^ This right here.

He is whoever Vince wants him to be. If Vince wants him to be an unstoppable monster who looks extremely strong, like he did in WCW (which I guess you missed), then he will dominate everything in his path, and it will be amazing. The fans obviously love him.

And if Vince wanted an Ultimate Warrior clone, then I’d assume the WWE would rehire Cryback. Goldberg is nowhere near as jacked as Warrior was.

He wasn’t that good when he had the run originally in WWE. There is no reason to think he has learned to wrestle while not wrestling. All he is, is hype. An Ultimate Warrior clone.

  • Killswitch

He seemed to be in good shape at SS. Why do you think he wouldn’t be able to deliver? There’s no way to really know for sure yet until he has a lengthy match.

  • Yespage

Oh goody. More Goldberg hype to come that can’t possibly live up to anything he can produce in the ring. Maybe put his locker room in Kissimmee so he can have a real long entrance video to make up for the five minute main event.

Though I would like the idea of a Cena squash match where Cena kicks Goldberg in the gut, flips him over his shoulders, gets the pin, and the WWE universe (at least the anti-Cena “fans”) lose their minds.
