Backstage news on why John Cena was moved to Raw

John Cena made his Raw return after almost a year this past Monday Night and as we noted before the Leader of Cenation is expected to stick around the Red Branded Show and he most likely won’t be appearing on SmackDown for a while.

Many people wondered why WWE chose to move Cena on Raw and now a new report from Sports Illustrated has revealed some interesting details about it.

According to the site, the reason why Cena was moved to Raw is because all the possible money making matches he can have there against stars like Braun Strowman, Samoa Joe and Roman Reigns.

The site also notes that Vince McMahon wants Cena to elevate Roman Reigns and give a rub to the Big Dog, which is an interesting claim considering the events of Raw this week.

As seen on Raw Reigns had a small confrontation with Cena and their match ended in controversial fashion as well when Roman accidentally delivered a Superman punch to his Tag Team partner for the night.

Seeing these events, it’s speculated that WWE may be planning a match between these two and this report reaffirms these rumours so it’s possible that we may see this match happening sooner rather than later.

lol so in order to get the guy we really hate more than anything over. we’re going to use the other guy we really hate to get him over. gotta love Vince’s forward thinking.
did he not hear the “you both suck” chants?

Can he please just retire already. Cenas light has been dim for years, it’s time for him to go spend his buckets and buckets and buckets and buckets and buckets and buckets etc. Of money and go relax for the rest of his life. Maybe come back every once and awhile.

Eh? The reason he was moved to RAW is that he is a free agent. The whole idea behind him being a free agent is they will stick him on whatever show suits him best at the time. If they decide in six months time that they want him to feud with Styles, then they will switch him to SD. Then when he is done with that, if they want him to feud with Bray Wyatt, they will move him to RAW again. Hell, if they decide its whats needed, he could even spend a month or two in NXT feuding with Drew McIntyre etc.

And if there is another superstar shake up and he is in the middle of a feud with say Roman Reigns, and Reigns goes to SD, then most likely Cena would follow him there too.

And in fact, in theory he could work both RAW and SD at the same time.
That’s what being a free agent means.
