Backstage news on Kenny Omega’s contract, is he WWE bound?

When it was announced that Chris Jericho will face Kenny Omega at the upcoming Wrestle Kingdom 12 event, it made fans wonder what it meant for the future of Omega.

There were even rumors that WWE allowed Jericho to appear at the upcoming show in return of Kenny Omega making an appearance for them at WrestleMania 34.

However, as we noted before Chris Jericho is not under WWE contract, so he didn’t need WWE’s approval to appear at the NJPW event and now it appears that the remaining hopes of Omega coming to the Biggest Wrestling Company in the World anytime soon are dead as well.

Wrestling Observer is reporting that even though Kenny’s contract is set to expire very soon, there is little talk of him leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling.

And if that wasn’t enough, NJPW is already advertising him for events after 31th January next year when Omega’s contract is set to expire, which shows that the company is confident enough that he will re-sign.

It’s worth mentioning here that this wasn’t the case last year. Officials felt uncomfortable in announcing Omega for future events in wake of the reports him possibly signing with WWE, even though he had said that he won’t be leaving.

Also AJ and his P1 gimmick are pg era ready. The cleaner is a hitman gimmick and is in no way pg friendly. They would try to change his character just like they have with Shin, and Gallows and Anderson. Go back and look at their work in Japan (all 3) and you will see totally different personas. WWE molds you to fit their image if your gimmick is not already pg era worthy. That’s why my initial post reads the way it does, why change unless they offer $$$$$$$$$$$$!!

Oh I agree about AJ but Kenny isn’t P1. And your correct all a moot point!

    Smackdown*

Smackfown needed a top babyface for when Cena and Orton retire, and AJ is, dare I say, phenomenal—on pretty much all fronts. Roode is just meh in the ring, and Nakamura’s English isn’t nearly up to snuff yet. So Styles fills that need.

Anderson and Gallows are good marquee names to have on the roster to sell tickets, but they’re kinda bland and boring in my opinion. Styles delivers, Anderson and Gallows do not. Plus, the tag division is really tough to shine in. If they allow Omega to go all-out and perform to the best of his ability, he could absolutely be a top guy in one years time, like AJ. BUTTTTTTTT… He’ll never go to WWE anyway, so it’s moot.

  • Buzzkiller73

    In your opinion.

  • EVH

yeah because AJ Style’s hasnt done squat in WWE….sigh….
Just because they have misused Anderson and Gallows doesnt mean WWE will do the same to Omega, who, no diss to A&G, is a bigger name and would get the same respect AJ got.

  • Buzzkiller73

Why sign with WWE? To be turned into some 2nd rate jobber like has happened with Gallows and Anderson. What a joke!! Stay in Japan and be a KING Kenny!!

While you can never say never in wrestling, at this moment in time I see absolutely no reason why Omega would even consider signing, and pretty much everyone knows that, so can we please stop with these horrible clickbait articles that are just repeating the same crap over and over again.

  • BB

I selfishly would love for Kenny to come to WWE but the dude is way better off in New Japan. I think the only thing that would consider making him sign with WWE is if they offered him a big contract.

  • MrDr3w

The title of this article should read: “Kenny Omega STILL not interested in signing with WWE”

    #clickbait

  • oppa

He must not want to job out to HHH
