Backstage news on Kenny Omega’s contract, is he WWE bound?

When it was announced that Chris Jericho will face Kenny Omega at the upcoming Wrestle Kingdom 12 event, it made fans wonder what it meant for the future of Omega.

There were even rumors that WWE allowed Jericho to appear at the upcoming show in return of Kenny Omega making an appearance for them at WrestleMania 34.

However, as we noted before Chris Jericho is not under WWE contract, so he didn’t need WWE’s approval to appear at the NJPW event and now it appears that the remaining hopes of Omega coming to the Biggest Wrestling Company in the World anytime soon are dead as well.

Wrestling Observer is reporting that even though Kenny’s contract is set to expire very soon, there is little talk of him leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling.

And if that wasn’t enough, NJPW is already advertising him for events after 31th January next year when Omega’s contract is set to expire, which shows that the company is confident enough that he will re-sign.

It’s worth mentioning here that this wasn’t the case last year. Officials felt uncomfortable in announcing Omega for future events in wake of the reports him possibly signing with WWE, even though he had said that he won’t be leaving.
