Backstage News on Sting’s Future with TNA, New TNA Live Event Matches Announced

– TNA has announced the following for their December 27th live event in Philadelphia and the December 28th live event in Long Island:

* Bully Ray vs. Mr. Anderson
* Kurt Angle vs. Bobby Roode
* The BroMans vs Eric Young and Joseph Park
* Chris Sabin vs. Austin Aries
* Velvet Sky vs. Lei’D Tapa
* Plus, Ethan Carter III will be in action

– Regarding Sting’s TNA future, he is advertised to face Ethan Carter III on the January 16th TNA event in Huntsville, Alabama, which would be after his current deal expires. It’s possible that Sting is going to work a few extra dates to write himself out of the storylines or he could sign on for another year with limited dates again. The impression within TNA is that Sting will be sticking around because they are booking with him in the plans going forward.

Personally I’ve never believed the rumors but I did think it was somewhat possible when they were doing the cryptic promos for H3 vs Taker at Mania 27. I will say this though with it being 30 this would more than likely be the most opportune time and have him be a mystery partner for Taker as opposed to someone who comes in and either snaps the streak or is just another number added to the streak.

I think he’ll just sign again for another year like he has been for the last several, unless WWE actually makes a significant offer (which is somewhat unlikely) since Steve is best served making as much money as he can while he can still go.

Sting signed a 1-year extension last March, so his current deal runs through March 2014. At that point, he can walk away if he wants.
