Home » TNA News » Backstage News on Why TNA Released Frankie Kazarian

- As noted before, Frankie Kazarian finished up with TNA at this weekend’s Impact Wrestling tapings. His release came because TNA simply did not want to sign him to a new deal. This is part of the ongoing cutbacks that have been going on since summer 2013.

The feeling was that Kazarian was making more money than TNA was comfortable paying him going forward. Instead of keeping veterans like Kazarian around, TNA is going with signing new, younger talents. It was noted that with the money they were paying Kazarian, TNA can pay for 2 new guys.

It’s said that money is tighter than ever for the company.

Well, TNA’s death has been rumored for 10 years and its still somehow kicking so who knows when it will die. It’s like a bad acting death where the actor just doesn’t know when or how many last breaths to take haha. To be honest, most of the vets they’ve gotten rid of have been there most of the TNA lifespan and they haven’t done anything to make the company beyond what it is.So, I feel its not just cost cutting but them realizing there is a free developmental territory in town called NXT and snagging better trained young people. I’d almost think that NXT talents want or made as much as some of the vet names from TNA. And when will Mason Ryan pop up on TNA tv? lol

Jarretts promotion is going to get a lot of good talent.

  • Jeff Wurtz

This is like the reverse of WCW. They kept the old guys around and paid them way too much. TNA can’t keep vets and are paying Mr. Pectacular

I think right now, the company will go belly up before the no names can get canned.

  • Timothy Davis

But why should younger talents join a company that has no respect for the veterans who built it? If they wont keep them then how easily would a no name get canned?!
