Backstage News on Why WWE Chose Santa Clara Over Philadelphia for WrestleMania 31

– The city of Philadelphia was reportedly very close to landing WWE’s WrestleMania 31 but the main reason they didn’t is because of the way they approached the bidding process.

WWE felt like Bay Area officials were more inviting and wanted them to be there. Philadelphia officials approached the situation like they were doing WWE a favor by having WWE in their city.

It’s said that Philadelphia cost themselves WrestleMania due to their lack of interest. When it came time for various cities to push themselves to WWE, Philadelphia just didn’t get the job done like the Bay Area and other cities did.

It’s interesting how the more WWE wants cities to kiss up to it for WresteMania, the worse many fans feel WrestleMania has gotten. The highlight of the weekend should be the PPV, not the Raw the night after the PPV.

Eugh! Philadelphia would’ve been a WAY better choice, i mean its pretty common knowledge that Philly fans are one of the loudest and most vocal fans (next to New Yorkers) out there. Nowdays the fans are crap and barely get involved, Wrestlemanias the biggest show of the year and the past few WM’s the fans just haven’t seemed to be into it (although that might have something to do with the crappy booking too)
