Backstage News on WWE’s Plans for Damien Sandow, Why He Was Told to Stop Doing Cartwheels

– WWE will be turning Damien Sandow babyface soon. It was discussed earlier this year to have Sandow cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase but lose. That idea appears to be off the table now and it looks like a World Heavyweight Title run is in his future.

Sandow was reportedly told not to do cartwheels and singing any more, in part because that’s the gimmick for NXT’s Aiden English now. Word is that Vince McMahon feels if someone on the main roster is doing the same gimmick as someone in NXT, it makes the main roster guy look like an amateur.

I can’t see him as a face. He should be a little more aggressive IMO.

  • Yup, sounds like more amazing WWE television on the way…..

It would but what Aiden English is doing in NXT is nothing close to what sandow is doing. Aiden literally sings a song about himself in a Broadway musical style way on his way down to the ring, and then sings a shortened version of it when he wins, and I may have missed him do it but iv nvr seen him do a cartwheel in his matches. And I may have missed this too, but when has sandow ever started singing during a match? And more importantly why would they make Sandow change his gimmick that hes been doing for like 2yrs over making a guy in nxt who has been doing it for less then a month? It makes no logical sense.

So now after splitting Rhodes Scholars and giving both a push as face and heel respectively, they’re now turning both face. What’s the point? Plus in another article says they’re suffering from a lack of top heels. Keep him heel and reintroduce Otunga as his assistant

No, it makes the NXT guy look unoriginal for doing the using the same gimmick.

Turning Sandow face then cashing in could be the way to go.
