As noted, Enzo Amore was injured during the opening match at the WWE Payback PPV event. Amore and Colin Cassady were wrestling The Vaudevillains in the tag team championship finals when Amore was sent head first into the ropes. The match was called and Amore was stretchered out of the arena.
WWE later confirmed that Amore suffered a concussion and was released from the hospital the same night as the PPV.
There are two different theories going around within WWE about Amore’s injury. The first theory is that Amore was knocked out by a knee a spot and then knocked out again when his head whiplashed on the middle rope. The second theory is that Amore was knocked out when he hit the middle rope.
Amore has been pulled from all WWE events until May 20th. Amore is expected to be back on WWE TV soon.
