Backstage Update on Undertaker’s Streak Ending, Last Minute Change of Plans and McMahon’s Involvement

Vince McMahon made the final call to have Brock Lesnar defeat the Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX, and with it end The Deadman’s legendary undefeated streak. There were reports to the contrary that it was Undertaker’s decision to end the streak, but that is not true. Despite that, there is a belief that if the Undertaker didn’t want the streak to end, he could have challenged the decision and it probably wouldn’t have happened.

The original plan for match was to have the Undertaker defeat Lesnar and preserve the Streak, however McMahon changed his mind days before WrestleMania. The feeling is that McMahon knew this could potentially be the Undertaker’s last match, and was also was mindful of his physical condition, deciding that if the streak was ever going to be broken, it had to be now.

There are conflicting reports on the Undertaker’s reaction to the decision – one friend of his said he had to be talked into it, while another person who would likely know, said there was no disagreement with the decision at all.
