Baron Corbin on the quality of WWE Raw nowadays

Baron Corbin recently spoke on Heated Conversations: Hosted By Booker T. Among many other things, Corbin talked about the necessary evil of social media. He also talked about the quality of Raw lately.

According to Corbin, social media is a necessary evil in pro wrestling.

“It gives a bunch of idiots, in reality, an opinion and they don’t know how to express it appropriately. The language, the insults, all of those things, and it just makes the world seem so unhappy. If you read the Twitter feed, it seems like everyone in the entire world is beyond miserable.

But, I think now, unfortunately, it’s a necessity. It’s a form of exposure and advertisement. My Instagram, my Twitter, is a form of advertisement for my business and what I do. Yeah, my brand. It is, but it is crazy how negative it is to everything!

“I was telling somebody when I was coming out of the car that 20 people could say, ‘Baron Corbin should wear a red shirt tonight on RAW!’ and if I wore a red shirt, those same 20 people are like, ‘he looks terrible! It should’ve been blue!’

There’s no pleasing it and I think [social media] just gives people a place to say what they want because there are no repercussions for their actions. If you took all these people that said all these things to me [on the internet] and put them in front of me, their attitude changes so fast.”

Raw these past few weeks has been met with a lot of negative reception and fans are vocal of their displeasure. Corbin also indicated that WWE is trying to improve its product over the previous week’s as well as they can.

“Just because [Twitter fans] are the loudest, it doesn’t mean they’re the majority.” Corbin stated, “it’s good that people speak their minds about these kinds of things, but it’s my show and if you want to change it, try. That’s what I say.

Come get it, if you want it. I’m in charge, but tonight we’re going to step it up and put something fresh out there. We’re always out there like [Booker T] said to put on the best show possible. I want tonight to be better than last week. I want last week to be better than the week before. I want next week to be better than this week. Like, if you’re not getting better, you’re getting worse.”

His comments are obviously WWE branded. Neither he, nor the “WWE” have any clue about what’s going on with any “online” wesbite, trending or not. I’m damned sure that if they went through the online “dirt sheets” or spoiler pages, this site, wrestlezone, as well as a few other “actual” sites may come up, as well. Corbin is a “TOOL” and the “WWE” by standard are irrelevant, and love to dismiss things that don’t suit their liking. PERIOD.

It’s not the Twitter fans, it’s the ratings in general. WWE fans are letting you know they are not happy with the current product by not watching.

Even Twitter fans bagging the product means they are watching it.

Blaming the people who buy the product, is never a good idea. If the customers, that’s those of us who watch, say the product is bad it is silly or Worse to blame the customer. Look in the mirror, Corbin, you will see the problem there. Look to creative, you will find the problem there. You will not find the problem in the people who buy, or do not buy, your product.

While there are keyboard warriors who would not say boo to a goose in real life, I think this attitude that because he is a big guy everyone who talks smack on the internet would be scared in real life is a joke. I would quite happily say anything to his face I would say on the internet, and that goes for anyone. And there are a lot of people out there who would do the same.
If he thinks he is threatening because of his size etc, then maybe he is no better than the people he thinks are cowards.

But if Corbin’s tongue isn’t around, what will Vince use for toilet paper?

  • Kristopher Robinson

Such a horrible response. And I would gladly talk sh*t to Corbins face

  • CC

Because Twitter fans are the loudest? Surely the people not watching the bloody show is the loudest indicator of how poor it is.

  • I would say the bigger problem is morons like Corbin kissing Vince’s Brown Eye.
