Bayley is not making SummerSlam, #1 Contender matches already set up

Bayley was riding high as the #1 contender for Raw’s Women’s Championship. She was set to face Alexa Bliss for her title at SummerSlam but that was before The Hugger stepped in the ring with Nia Jax.

During Bayley’s match with Jax she was treated like a rag doll in many respects. She was tossed out of the ring and started selling her shoulder pretty badly. This was worrisome to people who watch a lot of pro wrestling because after a spot like that you’re really not supposed to sell your shoulder. A shoulder sell is usually reserved for moves where the shoulder is explicitly targeted. However this was the case on Raw last week and Nia followed it up with an insane double chicken wing move that saw Bayley smashing into the canvas right on her injured shoulder once again.

Even though Bayley won the match via a count out it wasn’t the strongest way for her to go over to say the least. This led to even more speculation that The Hugger was hurt.

WWE looked at Bayley’s shoulder last week but they couldn’t determine how injured her shoulder really was because of all the swelling. But now WWE has confirmed fans’ fears by announcing Bayley did indeed suffer a separated shoulder. Now Bayley is being pulled from her scheduled Raw Women’s Championship match at SummerSlam against Alexa Bliss.

Bayley still plans to be at Raw tonight to address her fans which we can only imagine will be a hard segment to watch. But that still leaves the issue of crowning a new #1 contender.

Kurt Angle put that speculation to rest as well when he announced two female triple threat matches will take place on Raw tonight. The winner of each other those matches will face each other next week on Raw to determine a new #1 contender for Alexa Bliss’ title.

This is not good news for Bayley and we wish her a speedy recovery.
