Becky Lynch “re-injures” knee at WWE House Show

Last month, Becky Lynch managed to win the Women’s Royal Rumble, bad leg and all. Since then, Lynch has been working with a limp, forcing Triple H and Stephanie McMahon to demand she get checked out by the doctors so she could be cleared for her WrestleMania match.

Though her issues with the power couple were resolved on Monday Night Raw, she still lost her title opportunity at Ronda Rousey thanks to Vince McMahon, who replaced her with Charlotte Flair. Flair teased Lynch over her injured leg for weeks, and at a recent house show, she attacked Lynch after her former friend interfered in her match with SmackDown Women’s Champion Asuka.

You can see the attack in the video above. Flair kicks Lynch’s knee out from under her, brings her down with a chop block, and repeatedly pelts her with a chair.

WWE’s statement on the incident reads:

During a SmackDown live event in Alexandria, La., Saturday night, Becky Lynch suddenly leaped over the barricade from the crowd and attacked Charlotte Flair as The Queen was facing SmackDown Women’s Champion Asuka. In the heated altercation that followed, an irate Charlotte re-injured Becky’s knee, going as far to attack it with a steel chair.

The exchange came on the heels of WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon’s ruling on Raw that Becky receive a 60-day suspension from in-ring action and that Charlotte replace her in the Raw Women’s Championship Match at WrestleMania 35 against Ronda Rousey. Then, 24 hours later on SmackDown LIVE, Flair further stirred the pot by informing the WWE Universe that she was dedicating her title match at The Showcase of the Immortals to Lynch.

Lynch responded to the attack on Twitter.
