Big Cass released by WWE

World Wrestling Entertainment announced earlier today that Big Cass has been released from the WWE Roster. Since returning from injury, there have been rumors of Cass having backstage heat for going off-script in a segment with Daniel Bryan, a reportedly worked injury, and a short one-way match at Backlash. All that said, it was thought Cass may be out of the dog house following a more competitive match with Daniel Bryan at Money in the Bank this past Sunday, but this proved to be his final appearance for the company.

Cass was best known for being a duo with Enzo Amore, who also was released at the start of the year due to numerous controversies. The pair had been friends, but ceased speaking after Amore ripped Cass on social media for not completing their match when Cass tore his ACL in a freak accident.

We will post more on this when we have it.

  • Spooky Alert

I expect that they plan was for him to be Miz’s heavy. You know the last time WWE used this storyline? When Lance Cade was Jericho’s heavy in Jericho’s feud with HBK. Cade got released and now Cass has been released. Cade had been part of a tag team. Cass had been part of a tag team. Cade had been released for drug issues. Cass has been released for drinking(supposedly). I hope Cass doesn’t follow Cade’s path and end up dead in the next two years.

Bring back Tenay for that. “Big Cass has crossed the line. More are coming.”

  • BiggEZ

Damn, to get fired when it looked like he was about to get a push, he must have pissed someone off big time!

  • oppa

I wonder how many people read this as large colon at first?

  • oppa

The fact that you can still hear his voice is even sadder than this man losing his job.

  • EVH

i saw the writing on the wall when the first whispers of Vince “liking his size” and “having a singles run” when he and Enzo had just been brought up to the main roster. He was Test 2.0, but TBH he was even worse than Test.

  • Solid

TNA champ in 3 months tops 100% 😀

  • Kayfabe_Is_Dead

I feel like the “door is open” for Cass to return someday, and we haven’t seen the last of him. He was just stuck in a weird spot.

  • Grant Thomson

LMAO. Sadly I read this in Josh Matthews’ voice

I think the fact he lost again at MITB showed the writing was on the wall for him.
Not exactly a way to push a big guy having him lose twice in a row to a little guy, even one as top tier as Bryan.

“What’s Large Colin doing in the Impact Zone!?!?”

  • ROB-1.

    Maybe TNA?

  • Darrin Tyler

Good! One less piece of trash in the company.

Random! I feel for the guy but at the same time I’m 100% okay with this. Didn’t care for this guy on the mic or watching him wrestle. Hopefully he can continue on somewhere else.
