Big NJPW star re-signs contract with company

A top superstar from New Japan Pro Wrestling has announced that he has re-signed a deal with the company.

 


 

Hiroshi Tanahashi, who is set to main event the Wrestle Kingdom 13, announced on Twitter that he will be staying with the company for the future.

“Contract renewal with New Japan Wrestling. I will do my best next fiscal year too!” wrote The Ace on his Twitter.

The seven-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion has stayed with NJPW pretty much his entire career. He has earned a number of accolades in the company, ranging from multiple championship reigns to awards to winning tournaments, with the recent one being the 2018 G1 Climax Tournament. It will be interesting to see what the upcoming years have in store for the star.

Tanahashi will be facing Kenny Omega for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship on 4 January at the Tokyo Dome for Wrestle Kingdom. Make sure to check out WrestlingEdge for coverage of the event.
