According to a report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Goldberg and Brock Lesnar will ‘definitely’ have a rematch form yesterday’s (Sunday November 20, 2016) Survivor Series pay-per-view (PPV), where Goldberg squashed Lesnar in a match that lasted only 86 seconds. Meltzer reports that the deal was formed within the past week, after heavy pushes from many including Lesnar himself. Lesnar reportedly wanted more than just a one match program with Goldberg, as he saw major money in the angle, and Vince McMahon agreed.
In regards to why the match last night was so short, Meltzer notes that Goldberg suffered an injury before the match and the finish was changed once Goldberg agreed to return; readjusting to a finish similar to that of Goldberg’s old WCW matches.
