Boy saves his brother from drowning after learning how from The Rock in ‘San Andreas’

A 10-year-old boy saved his 2-year-old brother recently in Detroit. Jacob O’Conner noticed that his little brother Dylan had gone missing. Jacob found Dylan drowning in his grandmother’s pool. Dylan had been underwater for more than a minute before Jacob found him. Jacob removed his brother from the water and started doing compressions after seeing The Rock do it in his favorite film ‘San Andreas’.

In the film, The Rock’s character rescues his daughter from drowning and performs CPR until she finally spits up water.

Jacob told The Washington Post “The movie just popped in my head and I started thinking about that scene. And that’s when I started doing compressions”.

The Rock posted the following on Instagram about the story:

This story grabbed my heart. 10yr Jacob O’Connor found his little 2yr old brother, Dylan laying facedown in their pool.
He pulled his little brother out and started CPR & chest compressions. He saved little Dylan’s life. Jacob said he learned how to do this by watching me in his favorite movie, SAN ANDREAS.
I’m so amazed and impressed by this little 10yr old boy’s heroic actions and calm instincts in the middle of that kind of emergency distress.
I now need to shake young Jacob’s hand…
