Breaking – Daniel Bryan medically cleared for in-ring return

Daniel Bryan

Three years ago, Daniel Bryan, aged 36, wrestled what was said to be the final match of his career, however today he has been medically cleared to return to the squared circle according to WWE officials.

Neurosurgeons, neurologists and concussion experts outside of WWE have formally cleared Bryan for a return which now obviously opens up the door for a dramatic return at WrestleMania 34 in a matter of weeks.

Below is the official WWE statement:

“Following more than two years of extensive evaluations, four-time World Champion Daniel Bryan has been medically cleared to return to in-ring competition by leading neurosurgeons, neurologists and concussion experts, including Dr. Robert Cantu, Dr. Javier Cárdenas and Dr. Jeffrey Kutcher.

Bryan underwent a full review of his medical history and received comprehensive neurological and physical evaluations independent of WWE. He was cleared by each doctor as well as WWE’s Medical Director, Dr. Joseph Maroon.

After enjoying numerous championship runs, battling in legendary rivalries as both a singles and tag team competitor and sparking the epic “Yes!” Movement, Bryan was forced to make an emotional decision to retire from competition in February 2016. Later that year, he became the SmackDown LIVE General Manager, where he has continued to be an active part of the blue brand.”

We’d love to hear your thoughts on this great news, and more importantly, what you would now do with the Daniel Bryan character from a booking perspective…

It amazing the man passion to return to the WWE ring. But also the WWE probably don’t want to risk losing him if healthy he still a huge draw to the WWE.

Wrestlemania 34 will be his in ring return an were the WWE and Bryan go from there will be something to watch.

  • Arnold Jackson

So did he not suffer from concussions? Brain injuries aren’t like other types of injuries. Seems needlessly dangerous to his well being.

NEVER and I mean NEVER, was I a fan of his but am glad to see a fellow human being find his way back to pursuing his passion.

  • Yes Yes Yes

Gee, imagine that, one week after Shane takes a leave of absence(so he can return and wrestle against Zayn and Owens) and just three weeks from WrestleMania, Bryan gets cleared. He was cleared weeks if not months ago, I’m sure. I’m very happy to see that he gets to go back to wrestling. I don’t think the WWE roster has ever been more stacked than it is right now.

    Almost forgot…. YES!! YES!! YES!!

  • Kayfabe_Is_Dead

I’ll be the first one to say I am excited. There are a lot of possibilities for him right now. He would be a much needed addition to Wrestlemania if included. He could team with Shane, then maybe feud with Shane, definitely feud with the Miz, then hopefully go on to fight Finn Balor.
