Breaking: Huge Championship change at SmackDown changes stakes for Survivor Series

Survivor Series logo

As seen in the main event of this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, the Phenomenal AJ Styles defeated Jinder Mahal to become the new WWE Champion.

This huge championship change means that Styles will now be facing The Beast Brock Lesnar at the upcoming Survivor Series PPV instead of Mahal who was originally supposed to face the Universal Champion.

The decision to make Styles the champion is a surprising one as previous reports suggested that John Cena will be the special guest referee for the upcoming Champion vs Champion match.

Cena was allegedly going to be involved in the finish of the match causing Jinder to lose, which would have set up a future match between these two stars.

But since the stakes have changed big time now, we’ll have to wait and watch how things play out from this point and whether or not the Cenation Leader actually referees the upcoming bout.

Or maybe he’ll win it back on the tour in India.

Fine, let them continue the feud after Survivor Series. Just keep Brock booked with Styles.

As far as the main event, could be even better without Jordan or Roode. Lots of big stars that could fill those spots. That being said, hopefully they will add one more elimination match, perhaps on the pre-show.

I have a feeling they are going to try New Day vs The Shield now….?

Wasn’t there a report a couple of weeks ago that said Mahal was being advertised as a 2x WWE Champ? Looks like this is all part of the plan. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I’m rooting for Jinder, I’d like to see him do well. I think WWE is holding him back in terms of his promos, just putting him in this role of the anti-American foreigner who says “Modern Day Maharaja” way too much. Give us another side to the guy.

Unfortunately, I see that happening as well. Hopefully if that does happen it’ll be just until that tour is over. Cannot stand to watch anymore of Mahal’s boring matches and repetitive segments week after week.

1 week left. This is too good to be true. They will stick to their guns for their Indian tour. It will most probably be Jinder winning it again in smackdown rematch.

    Hell yay

I am just happy Mahul is no longer WWE champion.
