Brock Lesnar not confirmed for Summerslam?

The Universal Champion has had an iconic, if not controversial, title reign over the past year. Brock Lesnar defeated Goldberg at WrestleMania 33 and has taken on all comers, even taking down the Big Dog himself on two separate occasions. The plan, at the moment, seems to be a final match between Lesnar and Roman Reigns at Summerslam, but it looks like that hasn’t been finalized yet.

On this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer pointed out that Lesnar is not confirmed for any upcoming dates, including Summerslam.

Lesnar, at this point, is not confirmed by Vince McMahon for Summerslam, or any dates for that matter, which is weird since he has the title. He’s aware and knows about it, it makes sense to expect it, but unless it happened in the last day or two, the green light hasn’t been given for whatever reason.

Now, odds are, the match goes on as expected. It’s interesting that they haven’t finalized this match, though, and it could possibly lead to some curveballs coming from WWE’s creative staff. Apparently, they’ve completely changed a handful of endings over the past year on the day of the event.

Vince McMahon is sort of known for having multiple plans heading into a show and changing things up on the fly. Still, could this mean that the company plans on throwing a hail mary at this year’s Summerslam? Could we be getting something besides Lesnar/Roman 4? If so, what could it be?
