Brock Lesnar Talks About Ronda Rousey, The Undertaker, And SummerSlam

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar appeared in a second ESPN “SportsCenter” segment on Tuesday morning to promote SummerSlam. Here are the highlights.

Lesnar on whether Ronda Rousey needs a tough opponent:

“I think she’s a super athlete in a weak division. I really do. I think she is a man amongst women in the women’s division. I take my hat off to her, she is doing an excellent job at what she’s doing. I don’t know how she’s juggling everything, doing movies and this, that, and the other thing, and then going to Brazil and kicking butt over there and doing all the stuff that she’s doing. My hat’s off to you, Ronda. I’m not taking any talent away from her at all. I think she’s a super beast, super freak in the women’s division.”

On his match with The Undertaker at SummerSlam:

“I am the freak that broke the streak. He cost me my WWE Championship against Seth Rollins. I guess that means a lot to me. He cost me the match, so I’m going after him… You definitely have to prepare yourself to be in the ring with him. He’s been in the business for a long time. He’s good at what he does. I think I’m better, though (laughs).”

On how WWE, UFC, and the NFL have made him better a better athlete:

“I think the competitive side and competitive nature in me has allowed me, and the God gifted talent that he’s given me, to be able to, I guess, be versatile. I can’t put my finger on it. I just knew at a very young age that I wanted to be the best athlete in the world and I trained for it. They’re all different sports, but the same backbone is needed. You have to have the will to win and to do the best. It’s all work. There’s no free lunch in this world whatsoever.”
