Bruce Prichard to serve as Vince McMahon’s right-hand man

Two days ago it was revealed via PWInsider that the WWE had officially hired Bruce Prichard on as part of the company’s creative team. It was a well-received idea by many backstage, apparently.

So much so, in fact, that Prichard will now reportedly be working as Vince McMahon’s right-hand man. Dave Meltzer discussed the hiring on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer also revealed that Prichard has actually been working with the company since January as a consultant backstage.

Tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw will be the first episode in which Prichard is working directly under McMahon. The hope is that with Prichard in the driver’s seat, along with all the recent hirings of Shane Helms, Chris Parks, and others, Raw will be taken in a different direction which could help the company regain the audience that they’ve lost over the past year.

The ratings from last year show a streak of well over three million viewers from January 15th to April 30th. This year, however, Raw has struggled to crack three million mark, with the highest rated show in 2019 coming from last week’s episode, where they did manage to draw 3.046 million in the first hour, but averaged total at 2.771 million.
