Canadian Parliament puts discussions on hold to talk about Jinder Mahal

Canadian Parliamentary proceedings were briefly put on hold in order to discuss Alberta’s own Jinder Mahal and his shocking WWE championship victory that transpired over the weekend. Mahal was mentioned during a meeting of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, Canada this week.

Jinder Mahal shocked the world by winning the WWE championship off of Randy Orton at Backlash this past Sunday. WWE’s booking decision has been both praised and criticized, with the professional wrestling community’s reaction ranging from happiness to downright disgust over said booking.

Regardless, Graham Sucha- member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta- put business proceedings on hold in order to congratulate Jinder Mahal on his monumental victory. Fans can check out the video below-

It’s interesting to note that Jinder Mahal is the first person from Alberta, Canada to hold the WWE championship after Bret Hart won it about 20 years ago.

Besides, the Maharajah of Indian descent was, in fact, born in Calgary in 1986 and graduated from the University of Calgary with a business degree in communications and culture.

Jinder Mahal has gone from no more than a jobber to WWE champion in a shockingly small time-period, and that in turn has sent the entire professional wrestling community into a tizzy. I, for one, am truly interested in watching the WWE handle the heat they’ve brought upon their SmackDown brand by risking the legitimacy of the promotion’s most prestigious belt, nonetheless.
