– It looks like the UFC may have found a temporary fix for the current state of the company’s heavyweight title which is currently in limbo due to the poor health of Brock Lesnar. Reports are surfacing that the UFC is planning on having Frank Mir (13-4) face off against Shane Carwin (11-0) at UFC 111 on March 27 for the UFC interim heavyweight title.

Carwin was originally named the #1 contender to Lesnar’s heavyweight title and the two were set to face off at UFC 108, however Lesnar’s health problems have stalled any plans involving the company’s heavyweight title. If it is revealed that Lesnar won’t be returning anytime soon, then the UFC will most likely vacate his title and put it up for grabs in the Mir/Carwin fight with the winner of that fight expected to face the winner of the UFC 110 fight between Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Cain Velasquez sometime in the summer.

As everyone knows by now, Lesnar is suffering from some terrible intestinal problems and the UFC is still unsure if he will ever fight again. They are currently waiting for Lesnar’s test results to come back to see how he is healing, however he has still yet to take those tests.
