Huge championship match announced for SmackDown Live

As seen this past Tuesday night on SmackDown, Baron Corbin attacked AJ Styles after Styles retained the US Championship in a match against Tye Dillinger.

Following the post match assault, Corbin took the mic and told AJ that he will be his opponent for next week’s United States Open challenge, though at that time it wasn’t confirmed that this match will surely happen.

Now the company has confirmed that the former Money In The Bank contract holder will indeed get a shot at the US title on the next episode of SmackDown Live:

It’s worth mentioning here that according to a recent report, WWE only recently found out that Baron Corbin is also one of the former players who is involved in a concussion related lawsuit against NFL.

While not confirmed it’s said to be one of the reasons among others for Baron Corbin’s recent backstage heat, though, now he is part of a championship feud so it appears that the heat will not hurt the SmackDown Star in the long run.
