Two championship matches, Huge Battle Royal made official on SmackDown this week

There were some big announcements made on yesterday Night’s episode of SmackDown Live, which includes the first two matches for the upcoming Battleground PPV and a huge #1 Contender’s match for next week.

First of all, it was announced that Randy Orton will get another match against the WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, though this time the match will be a Panjabi Prison match at Battleground.

There have been only two Panjabi Prison matches in the history of WWE and the last one was contested 10 years ago, so this is a huge news.

Another championship match which was made official last night for the next SmackDown Exclusive PPV is for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship between the title holders The Usos and the New Day.

Though this is not all. During the show, General Manager Daniel Bryan also announced an “Independence Day” Battle Royal for next week’s episode of SmackDown Live, to determine the new #1 contender for Kevin Owens’ United State Champion.

Finally, the only Segment confirmed for next week’s show is the return of ‘Free Agent’ John Cena which should finally reveal what feud WWE has planned for him upon his return.
