Chris Jericho Says Goodbye For Now After Wrapping Up 2013 Run

— Chris Jericho indicated via Twitter that his appearance on this week’s SmackDown taping will be the final one of his current WWE stint. He tweeted the following early this morning:

“So long to WWE for now…2013 was one of my favorite in ring yrs ever! Thx for always sticking w Y2J & see u on the road soon w @FOZZYROCK!”

Jericho wrapped up his 2013 run in losing fashion, first against Rob Van Dam on RAW, and then against Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel at last night’s SmackDown taping.

For those interested, Jericho will begin touring again with “Fozzy” from early August before touring domestically in September and October.

i think he can still hang. but he isnt what he once was. that there puts him past his prime. but i still believe he is one of the best still going today

going out with a hell of a losing streak =

I disagree that hes past his prime, given the right opponent (as seen on RAW) Y2J is just as amazing in the ring as ever. (24-hours out of a PPV even)
Also he wont even fall from his mad Mic skills.
Its just not his main focus anymore.
Hes a top block for pushing younger talent and uber respect for him there.
But I dont believe for a second hes on the down hill of his prime.

agreed. and every time he comes back makes for an awesome moment every single time.

this is why Y2J stays on top. he knows his prime is past him so he comes in and put over great workers from time to time. not over doing it. he deserves the breaks he takes. thanks for the awesome match with rvd on raw. i hope it wont belong before he is back in wwe
