Chris Jericho Talks Working with WWE in the Future

The Daily Star has an article featuring quotes from Chris Jericho. In it, Jericho discusses the mentality in WWE and hopes to work with them again in the future.

“I don’t know if it’s bullsh*t but there is very much that attitude in WWE – sometimes ‘if you’re not with us you’re against us’. It’s been there so long I find it kinda weird.

“As you and I know, WWE lives in its own world and you can see that for any outside ventures that they do.

“I’m always cool with them and always open to going back, but it’s difficult – I would have liked to have done more, maybe, but they want your time exclusively and the longer I’ve been there, the less time I have. Hopefully we’ll work together in the future.

“If we don’t, well, I can walk away knowing I had an amazing run and achieved everything I wanted to achieve in wrestling.”

@Turn Off The Dark I dont get what you are saying at all. The guy has done his bit for WWE, so why shouldnt he now be able to do something for himself? Just because Fozzy isnt your thing, doesnt mean its less important to Jericho, or doesnt have a decent size fan base.
The shitty thing isnt that Jericho is off doing something you dont like, its the fact that WWE dont make a concessions for someone who has been in the business as long as he has that is the shitty thing.

If WWE wasnt so damn controlling, then Jericho would likely do more with them through out the year. Its fully understandable that they want to control most of their talent, but there has to be concessions made for the longer serving main eventers.

    @Matt Haha! There’s that, too!

@Tim And maybe. But there’s always Lance Storm.

  • Matt

    Sadly Tim you’re right.

  • Tim

Actually, since WWE wouldn’t show anything with Chris Benoit, which had Jericho at his best, it’d be 5 discs, tops

  • Matt

It would have to be at least 10 discs, it would take a while for him to go over all 1004 holds 😛

Jericho has done so much in professional wrestling it’d take a six-disc set to complete detail everything he’s done in every wrestling federation, whether it be indy, mainstream or foreign.

Jericho has the creative genius to recognize when things aren’t going properly and call the WWE out on it or walk away before his character or his personal self suffer for it. I truly believe he doesn’t stay full time because of the PG-13 stuff. ‘Can you please shut, the hell, up?’ is just one example.

In essence, his character changed dramatically because of the way WWE changed. But the fact that he stuck through it and suffered countless injuries, pushed guys like Dolph Ziggler and gladly lost titles when it was necessary or not even? Makes him a true legend of the business. Not just the WWE– professional wrestling as we know it.

He deserves his time in Fozzy because its what he loves and he has earned that right. Always respect for Jericho.

  • Turn Off The Dark

Bull, Jericho DOES have time for Wwe. He just can’t stay away from Fozzy that long, which is shitty. Countless fans that love you in Wwe. Or the few that like your music…Seems like an easy choice to me if you want to entertain the fans. He’s still a young guy. He should be doing all he can while he is still young enough to do it while being healthy. Just my personal opinion. His come and go teases are just irritating for anyone that loves him as a wrestler.

I hope we see him back, but honestly, Jericho doesn’t owe anybody anything in my eyes.
