CM Punk Addresses WWE’s Anti-bullying Campaign After Telling Fan To Kill Himself

WWE Champion CM Punk spoke out on Amendment 1 Monday morning on Twitter as he strongly feels same sex marriage should be legalized in the state of North Carolina. The WWE Superstar subsequently told a fan on the microblogging website who disagreed with his beliefs to “kill yourself;” the message read, “Man was meant for woman, and even the thought of homo’s make me sick.” Punk was chastised for his harsh remark by another Twitter user, who reminded him of WWE’s anti-bullying campaign ‘be a STAR.’

“Telling someone to kill themselves? B A Star. How about creating a positive change instead of civil unrest? Ass.,” the Twitter user wrote to the WWE Champion.

Punk, however, disagreed, as he said he’s fighting bigotry. He responded, “Hey moron, don’t try to hide behind the be a star campaign. I am a star. I’m fighting bigots here. Zero tolerance.”

The WWE Superstar then poked fun at “dirtsheets” for reporting his earlier remark, writing, “Dirtsheets need to report that I have cilantro in my teeth. Then swallow tacks.”

Punk continued to stir the pot on the microblogging site as he then hinted at surprises for tonight’s Raw SuperShow.

“Trust me when I say this #RAW will be fantastic. #rumors #surprises #cilantro,” he wrote. “I love knowing stuff nobody knows.”

I really don’t see the reason why Punk has to say I am sorry about anything. It is not bully anybody in fact it the other guy being the bully. Which is most of the internet always talking about a wrestler behind a keyboard. What I mean tell me if anybody that talk on the internet would say it to the wrestler face. The answer is no. You see basic bully are cowards that can’t say what they want to say to somebody face. That is what the dirt sheet is to me all bully. Punk and the internet are going to have a war soon. You see Punk not going to be bully by the internet. Oh the dirtsheet is the biggest bully around the thing is Punk going to show them he can fight back.

Guess what Emerson; I reported it to TMZ already. Have fun WWE putting out this fire. lol

  • scooter

I think saying kill yourself goes way too far but I agree with the premise of what Punks saying

  • Steve

Who cares if TNA has the best roster? What the fuck are they doing with it? That’s like saying a girl has the best tits, but she never shows them. They’re being wasted, much like the best TNA has to offer.

LOL @ “Why did Rock say Bobby Roode was the best worker?” What the fuck does Rock know about actual wrestling? Sure, he’s maybe the best talker ever, but he’s barely average in the ring. His opinion on who can actually put on a good match carries about as much weight as Marc Middleton’s does.

  • Ben

    @ JASON

LOL Punk would never go to TNA. He said it himself that it’s a joke. In fact he chose to stay in ROH while AJ and Daniels left. It’s also a well known fact that Punk was one of the highest paid indy wrestlers ever, he took a paycut to go to OVW intially.

TNA could never touch Punk’s salary.

Also, telling someone to kill themselves is not bullying. Especially over the internet. It was essentially Punk telling these people to f*ck off with more creativity.

I’ve got a question for you. Suppose a relative of yours, someone you care about, revealed that they dislike gay people. Would you argue with them and tell them why you think they’re wrong? Or would you wish they’d die? Would you tell them to jump off a cliff? I doubt it. But it’s OK if it’s a stranger, right?

Also, I’m not sure why people say “they speak their mind” like it’s some big compliment. Some of the dumbest, most intolerant people in the world “speak their mind”, too. The guy who said the homophobic slur was speaking his mind. ANYONE can “speak their mind”–in fact, we’re born that way, because that’s what children do. Learning to think before we speak is what adults do, and is a hell of a lot more of an important skill to master.

  • xXx

wow, so punk is a victim of the proverbial double-standard.. so superstars cant do things normal people do? and this ain’t bullying, the fan started it, prolly to get a reply from the guy

  • Yes Man

    @bloodstone for the win!

  • bloodstone

Jason you fucking fucktard why don’t you go kill yourself and no im not sorry i said it you piece of shit

  • Jason

Punk better stay away from TNA, we are too good for him.

  • Jason

Yes man and BW, if that was true then why did the likes of Christian and The Rock say that TNA has the best wrestling roster in the business atm. Why did the Rock say Bobby Roode was the best worker in the business today.

Punk would not go to ROH and get paif $500 a week. No way, no how. It would be either TNA or NJPW or nothing.

  • barry horowitz

jason tna would bend over backwards for punk u moron and besides hed probably go to ROH or NJPW you know companies that can be respected?

  • ratedG-gos

If punk were to get fired for telling some1 to kill themselves why is triple h still in the biz? Didn’t he and shawn michaels get a women to flash her tits on camera? Didn’t triple h also jump a fan that jumped the apron and ran in the ring? I also saw justin roberts rugby tackle a teenager in london when they ran into the ring. Cm punk telling someone to kill themselves is nowhere near as bad as jumping on top of a fan viciously.

  • The Killswitch

@Devil_Rising Punk represents a company. Company officials have a responsibility to be, well, responsible. Making rash comments like this puts the WWE in a bad light, especially since it’s struggling to push “Be a Star.” Which, by the way, makes no sense considering how much bullying is in the WWE.

I have always respected Punk for speaking his mind. But it’s hard to defend that when he wishes that someone was dead because of the way they speak THEIR mind. A bit backwards, don’t you think?

  • John

I hope people will finally realize that Punk is the biggest a**hole in the wwe. He’s his own biggest fan and seriously overestimates his importance in the the grand scope of wrestling. He’ll never be counted amongst the likes of Steve Austin, The Rock, Ric Flair, HBK, etc.

  • Devil_Rising

I think some of you folks are mistaking being a “self-righteous ass”, for not being afraid to speak his mind. Punk says shit that ALL of us say to our friends, that’s how most young people talk. But somehow we expect “superstars” to not be like that, like they’re not people.

And quite frankly, hateful bigots should jump off a cliff. The world would be a much finer place without them. And trust me, that would be a LOT of people.

  • Yes Man

@jason CM Punk wouldn’t go to TNA for three reasons. 1. He has actual talent. 2. He isn’t a drug addict. 3. He doesn’t drunk tweet.

  • Emerson

Trust me, CM Punk is going nowhere for comments he said to a fan on twitter, I’ve seen plenty of WWE talent be a lot more rude and say worse things in person before. WWE isn’t going to do a damn thing unless somewhere like TMZ catches wind.

I think people are a little too sensitive anyways getting all up in arms because CM Punk told some fan to kill themselves, jeez people grow a set and stop making something out of nothing.

  • Jason

Punk is a moron, if he keeps this up he will lose his job with the WWE and end up in TNA. (Please god keep this hack away from TNA)

  • This Guy

@Narf – Haha he also said to the same guy numerous times that he has a vagina

  • Deva

so punk is a bully himself, I just don’t like punks views, as in cursing people out , calling people faggots , telling people to go kill themselves. Its just uncool

  • Jason

Punk is great this is why.

  • The Killswitch

So bullying is justified by fighting bullys? What kind of backwards society do we live in? Come on, Punk. You’re better than this.

  • kitkrock

    Punk will be fired soon.

  • poko

He does seem to be something of a self-righteous ass. I’m not nearly as big a fan of Punk as I used to be, though I still think he’s great in the ring.
