CM Punk’s second MMA fight confirmed

CM Punk

When CM Punk first announced that he’ll be entering the world of Mixed Martial Arts, people’s opinion about his career choice after wrestling was divided.

However, after the former World Champion lost his debut match within 2 minutes, the majority started believing that his MMA career won’t go any further and he has had his last fight in UFC.

So when Punk’s coach Duke Roufus indicated that he’ll be having his second fight soon, not many people believed it. But now it appears that it will actually be happening.

UFC President Dana White recently had an interview with THE AP and when asked about the Straight Edge Star, he said that he will give Punk another chance:

“I like that guy. He’s a good dude. He wants one more. He wants to get another shot. I’m going to give it to him.”

So far it’s not confirmed when will CM Punk havw his second fight. Who will be his opponent is not known either but we’ll keep you posted on the matter.

Ugh. Maybe somewhere in an alternate universe Punk finally got his Wrestlemania (last match of the night) Main Event and he’s still wrestling today.

Agreed and Punk did have what like 4 years, but kept getting injured and such. If he doesn’t win this one, I hope he’ll go to ROH or NJPW.

Correct. Lesnar is a special animal!! FREAK HYBRID ATHLETE, he is legitimately a once in a lifetime type competitor be it in WWE or UFC he is a real badazz and Punk is Not!!

I think the problem for Punk was Lesnar.
When Lesnar moved to MMA, UFC were probably not as willing to take a risk on how a WWE wrestler would go over, cause ya know, wrestling is fake etc
But for Punk, because of the success Lesnar had, and the extra exposure he brought with him, White did not give a damn if Punk was ready or not, he just wanted to get everyone talking about the situation and get more PPV buys.

Even Brock had his first fight in K-1 and not the UFC. Punk tried biting off more than he could chew with making the jump to the UFC too soon. Maybe this time he will be more prepared and get a better result……maybe.

I can respect Punk for wanting to transition to MMA, but I honestly don’t think that he’ll go anywhere in the sport. Losing that quickly, in that fashion, with little to no experience, it’s goig to be hard to bounce back from that and I am sure his confidence level is pretty low. But I wish him the best and hope he does better and maybe goes to a lower promotion of MMA to get better.
