We noted before how Duke Roufus, the MMA coach of the former WWE Champion CM Punk posted a photo indicating that The former WWE Star can have his second fight later this year and now it appears it will happen very soon.
Duke recently posted another photo from his Instagram account which has kick started the rumors of Punk’s second MMA fight taking place in near future.
In the photo as seen below, the MMA coach welcomed UFC Lightweight John Makdessi to his academy and said that he and the former WWE Star are ‘awaiting fight confirmation’:
Great #laborday training today with the #roufusport Fight Team. We are pleased to welcome #UFC Lightweight #lebanese #canadian #johnmakdessi and always a pleasure having #cmpunk both of them are awaiting fight confirmations. #mma #usa #america #american #lebanon #canada #worldwide #Repost @johnmakdessi (@get_repost) ・・・ Honoured to have trained along side @CMPunk #bestintheworld today's practice session under legendary coach @dukeroufus #dukeroufusport Osu.
It’s worth mentioning here that after UFC President Dana White said that Punk’s second fight should probably not take place in UFC, the former World Champion had stated that he is determined to fight again and if not in UFC, it will happen somewhere else.
Currently, it’s not known if CM Punk will be returning to UFC for a second fight or if he will continue his MMA career anywhere else. Whether an opponent has been chosen for him is not known either.
