CM Punk’s second MMA fight happening later this year?

When CM Punk was dominated in his UFC debut, many believed that it was the end of his MMA career. However, it appears that the hopes of his second fight inside Octagon are not dead just yet.

Punk’s coach Duke Roufus recently posted a photo on Instagram which has fuelled the rumours of his second MMA fight happening sometimes later this year.

The photo has a list of all the fighters that train in the Roufusport MMA Academy alongside their records in 2017. Interestingly as seen below, it also includes the name of Punk and hints that he may have a fight later this year:

It’s worth noting here that after CM Punk lost his debut match, President Dana White said that Punk should probably not have his second fight in UFC.

Though earlier this year, when the former WWE Champion was asked about his MMA career during an interview with Fox sports, he said that he’ll defiantly have a second fight and if it doesn’t happen in UFC, it will happen somewhere else:

“I am working on it feverishly; I’m throwing names at Dana (White), opponents, dates. I don’t know if he’s waiting for a Chicago show or what the deal is but if it doesn’t happen in the UFC, it will happen somewhere else. I’m dedicated to fighting and training. We’ll get there.”

What really happens will be revealed in future but so far it appears Punk has not given up on his MMA Dream and he is determined to fight again.
