CM Punk’s Appearance on “Talking Dead”, 5 Companies That Could Be Interested In Buying WWE

– As reported, CM Punk appeared on AMC’s “Talking Dead” yesterday evening, and was introduced as “Phil Brooks, aka CM Punk” by show host Chris Hardwick. There was no mention of Punk’s WWE status during the conversion, and Hardwick plugged Punk’s current @CMPunk Twitter page at the end of the show, which incidentally has not been updated since January 27th. The only other nugget from the show was fellow guest Yvette Nicole Brown telling Punk he was being “very sweet today,” prompting Punk to smile and say, “Right now, I’m a completely new person.”

– Following the rumors that AMC Networks had interest in acquiring World Wrestling Entertainment, What Culture has an article on their website looking at five companies who would want to buy WWE. They are listed as:

5. Mass Media Conglomerate (i.e. Disney, Comcast, AMC Networks)
4. Internet Company (i.e. Netflix)
3. Crazy Billionaire (Mark Cuban, Donald Trump, Richard Bronson)
2. Live Event Producer (Live Nation, Ticketmaster)
1. Private Money (private equity firms)

Imagine WWE owned by Disney for a minute.

Uh.. I think he’s through with changing things. That was a long time ago.

  • ChrisDV

Potential buyer no. 3 is irrelevant. WWE is already owned by a crazy billionaire.

  • Matthew Farrell

This “article” is BS. I can think of 5 companies that “may” be interested; anybody can. This is pure speculation and does nothing but start false rumours.

  • CC

Thats not five companies who would want to buy WWE. its five types of money that might have an interest in it, and pretty much just tells anyone what they already know. People with money might be interested.

Under “Crazy Billionaire”, they forgot to list Ted Turner.

Punk said on his DVD. “I can’t change anything sitting on my couch in Chicago”. So I see Punk is trying change things sitting on a couch on another show.
