NXT TakeOver: War Games just went down and boy did it deliver. The show continued the trend of setting the bar high for their main-roster counterparts who’ll look to put up an equally good show tomorrow at Survivor Series.
War Games, for those of you unaware, is a Dusty Rhodes creation. The American Dream devised the entire match back in his days at WCW and the rest, as they say, is history.
This year’s match saw the North American Champion Ricochet and the UK Champion Pete Dunne along with the War Raiders go over the Undisputed Era in one of the most brutal WWE matches of the year.
Dusty’s son and megastar Cody Rhodes, immediately took to his Twitter handle to appreciate the phenomenal performances of each and every Superstar involved in the gruesome match.
Rhodes said that he’s proud of his father today and really appreciated the fact that his legacy was honoured by a bunch of tremendously talented people in front of a full house.
So proud of Dad. Tonight a group of exceptional atheletes entertained a full house in Los Angeles, in a match inspired by his vision. So glad people enjoyed it.
It feels cool being one of those out there that rememeber. #NXTTakeOver
