Possible reason Crown Jewel was moved to smaller venue

We noted before how the highly anticipated Crown Jewel PPV which was originally expected to take place from King Fahd stadium has now been moved to King Saud University Stadium.

The new stadium is much smaller to the older venue and according to the data; the University Stadium can hold 25,000 people while the older venue’s listed capacity was just under 70,000.

While no official statement has been made a report states that the reason for this change is some construction work in King Fahd stadium and two football matches have been moved from their recently for the same as well.

So far there are only 2 matches which have officially been announced for the Crown Jewel PPV, including the WWE Championship match between AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan and the Triple Threat for the Universal Championship among Braun Strowman, Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns.

If all the stories of the Saudi royal family putting most of the money, I would guess if it was poor ticket sales, it would be them moving the venue rather than WWE specifically.
The construction thing could be true no doubt as it would not be the first time construction has forced a sporting event or concert to be moved or delayed, but with recent viewing figures and this show being so soon after the previous Saudi show (surely one a year is more sensible), being cynics that the wrestling fan base is, of course we are all gonna think the worst.

so construction is the blame for the change of venue. makes more sense if the venue isn’t ready for sporting events, but then again, maybe Crown Jewel isn’t selling well to the point of WWE pulling a WrestleMania 7 and changing venue for poor ticket sales and lying about the reason why the move (their made up excuse was the Gulf War and security, but WWE still got to held the first WrestleMania after 9/11 in Toronto okay with no security issues and held it at the Skydome (now Rogers Centre).
