Dakota Kai undergoes surgery for torn ACL

Dakota Kai has been one of the more prominent members of NXT and NXT UK’s women’s divisions. On NXT, she’s been a constant thorn in the side of Shayna Baszler and recently seemed to be reigniting her feud with the Women’s Champion.

Sadly, any plans for Kai had to be put on hold after she was injured at a house show last month.  And today, the Captain of Team Kick went in for an operation to repair her torn ACL.

In her update on Twitter, Kai explained what happened back on December 7th, stating that her foot was planted awkwardly after a kick, and that’s what caused the injury. Kai was in the middle of a six-woman tag team match, teaming with Candice LeRae and Kairi Sane to take on Baszler, Marina Shafir, and Jessamyn Duke.

On average, ACL surgeries usually take around 6-9 months before someone regains full range of motion. So, sadly, we probably won’t see Kai until July at best.
